Excellent service .Great atmosphere
“I want them natural” can mean very different things. One client wants barely-there definition; another wants a fuller brow that still works with their coloring.
A good shade choice starts with that conversation. Then you can choose depth and tone deliberately instead of reaching for the same brown every time.
The quick answer: Agree on the desired definition, then compare shade depth and tone with the client’s existing brows. Use the selected system’s color chart, permitted blends, matching developer, and current processing instructions. A shade name alone cannot predict the result.
Agree on What Natural Means
Ask the client how much definition they want and whether they normally fill the brows in. Look at the untinted brow hair, any grey or white hair, and the overall contrast they prefer.
Head-hair color is a useful reference, but it does not need to be copied exactly. Show a realistic color reference and agree on the intended depth before mixing.
Pro Tip from Nove Academy: Ask “soft definition or a more noticeable brow?” A short, specific choice is easier for the client to answer than asking whether they want a natural result.
Compare Depth and Tone Separately
Depth tells you how light or dark the result looks. Tone tells you whether it reads warmer or cooler. Changing one does not automatically solve the other.
These are starting options from RefectoCil’s Classic range—not a promise that the same tube will look identical on every client.

Light Brown No. 3.1: A Lighter Starting Option
Look here for: A lighter brown choice when Natural Brown would give more depth than the client wants.
Useful check: Compare the intended result with the client’s existing hair and preferred contrast before committing to a darker formula.

Natural Brown No. 3: More Brown Depth
Look here for: A darker brown option for stronger hair definition.
Keep in mind: “Natural” is the shade name; it does not mean it will be a subtle result on every brow. The brand permits blending it with Light Brown for intermediate brown shades.

Graphite No. 1.1: A Cooler Option
Look here for: Grey or white hair and supported blends where a cooler tone is wanted.
Useful distinction: Graphite is not a universal shortcut for every client asking for lighter brows. Follow RefectoCil’s color guidance.
Keep Blends Within the Supported System
Use RefectoCil’s Classic color chart for permitted combinations. Record the shade proportions so the next appointment begins with an actual formula instead of a memory.
Light Brown and Natural Brown can be blended for intermediate brown results. Graphite can be used in supported Classic blends to introduce a cooler tone. Do not invent a universal recipe for blond, red-haired, or grey-haired clients.

RefectoCil Creme Oxidant 3%: The Matching Developer
Look here for: The cream developer intended for the compatible RefectoCil tint system.
Check first: Current mixing directions for the exact tint and developer. Do not substitute the ratios or steps from Intense Brow(n)s or another brand.
Pro Tip from Nove Academy: Write down shade proportions, developer, processing time, and the client’s feedback. A repeatable formula is much more useful than “brown, but a bit lighter next time.”
Preparation and Timing Still Change the Result
- Complete consultation and the required sensitivity test. Follow the current product’s timing and method before booking the treatment. A previous successful tint does not rule out a later reaction.
- Prepare as directed. Remove makeup and residues with the specified preparation products and use the required skin protection.
- Mix accurately. Follow the current regional pack for the exact tint and oxidant; do not estimate the developer because the paste looks familiar.
- Place deliberately. Keep the application within the intended brow shape and avoid unnecessary skin staining when hair definition is the goal.
- Time and remove correctly. Use the manufacturer’s range and removal method. Do not extend processing beyond its directions to force a darker color.

RefectoCil - Browista Tool Kit
Want dedicated tools for mixing and placing your tint? The Browista kit includes a narrow angled brow brush, a broader lash brush, spoolies and two mixing dishes. Keep each step organized while following the exact tint ratio, timing and cleaning instructions.
If tinting is part of another treatment, check the system’s combined-service instructions. Recently processed hair may have different requirements; do not carry a stand-alone tinting time into every service.
If the Result Is Not What You Planned
The Brow Looks Too Dark
Check: Shade depth, processing, starting hair color, and whether temporary skin staining is contributing to the appearance.
Next step: Use only the system’s appropriate cleanup routine. Do not use bleach or another unplanned chemical service as a quick correction.
The Color Looks Too Warm
Check: The selected shade and starting hair tone.
Next step: Consult the supported color chart and record a suitable adjustment for a future service rather than improvising another tint immediately.
Grey Hairs Look Uneven
Check: Coverage, preparation, and the product’s guidance for grey or white hair.
Next step: Review a suitable formula and technique without repeatedly processing the brow to chase the last hair.
Pro Tip from Nove Academy: Compare the finished brows in consistent lighting. It makes client feedback and your next color decision much easier to assess.

A Few Common Questions
Should brow tint match the client’s head-hair color exactly?
Not necessarily. Use it as a reference alongside the existing brow hair and the contrast the client prefers. Agree on a realistic depth and tone before mixing.
What is the difference between RefectoCil Light Brown and Natural Brown?
Light Brown No. 3.1 is a lighter option. Natural Brown No. 3 gives more brown depth. The actual result also depends on starting hair, preparation, and processing.
Can I mix RefectoCil Light Brown and Natural Brown?
The brand permits blends of these Classic shades for intermediate brown results. Follow the color chart and current tint and developer directions, and record your shade proportions.
What is Graphite brow tint used for?
RefectoCil describes Graphite for grey or white hair and for cooler effects in supported Classic blends. It is not a universal lightening product.
Can I use Classic tint instructions for Intense Brow(n)s?
No. They are different systems. Use the color products, developer or activation steps, preparation, and timing specified for the exact range.
Do returning clients still need a sensitivity test?
Follow the current product’s sensitivity-test requirements, including its timing and method. A previous successful service does not guarantee that a later allergic reaction cannot occur.
Choose the Color Together
A clear consultation, a supported formula, and accurate records help you create a result the client recognises as their own. Keep the process consistent and make shade adjustments deliberately.
